Data Collection

This extension collects no data whatsoever. Specifically:

• No personal information
• No browsing history
• No download history
• No analytics or telemetry
• No cookies or tracking

How It Works

DownloadRenamer operates entirely locally within your browser. It intercepts download events using the Chrome Downloads API, renames files based on your configured template, and stores your preferences using chrome.storage.sync (synced to your Chrome profile). No data ever leaves your browser.

Permissions

• downloads — Required to rename downloaded files.
• tabs (optional) — Used only to read the current page title for filename templates. No tab content or URLs are stored.
• storage — Used to save your settings locally via Chrome's built-in sync storage.

Third-Party Services

This extension makes no network requests and uses no third-party services.
